With such a diverse membership, St. Michael’s enjoys a rich
music ministry with choirs in English, Spanish, Haitian
Creole, and Kirundi/Kinyarwanda.
Many of our music ministers also inspire youth to preserve
and celebrate their cultural heritages. This can be seen in the wonderful dancing of our Spanish youth. St.
Michael’s also serves as a home base for Inziragukanya, Rhode Island’s
Burundian Drumming Group, and members of our Rwandan population will periodically
offer the dances of their homeland.
Our music ministry incorporates more traditional instruments
of organ and piano with electric guitars, Burundian and Haitian drums, hand
clapping, and a myriad of languages.
International masses provide the opportunity for all of
these groups to come together and for our community to feel the diversity in
stereo.
